UAE Media Council Extends Advertiser Permit Registration Deadline

1 Min Read

The UAE Media Council has extended the registration deadline for the mandatory Advertiser Permit until January 31, 2026. The permit applies to individuals and entities in the UAE who publish or promote paid or unpaid advertisements through social media, websites, or other digital platforms. The extension provides more time for residents, citizens, and visitors engaged in advertising activities to comply with the country’s updated media regulations. The council explained that the measure aims to enhance transparency, ensure responsible advertising practices, and protect consumers from misleading content. Those promoting their own products or services through personal accounts are exempt, as are individuals under 18 involved in educational, cultural, or sports-related content. Advertiser Permit holders are required to display their licence number on their social media accounts and ensure all promotional activities comply with UAE laws. The move reflects the UAE’s continued effort to regulate and professionalize the digital media landscape.
