The Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 has reported a record-breaking 2,076 award submissions, underscoring the emirate’s growing influence as a global cultural hub. This year’s entries include works from 184 Emirati authors, 1,339 Arab writers and 454 international contributors, alongside 99 submissions for the prestigious Turjuman Award, reflecting strong engagement from diverse literary communities.

Led by the Sharjah Book Authority, the fair brings together authors, illustrators and publishing leaders from across the UAE, the wider Arab region and international markets. Organisers say the surge in entries highlights rising creative output and deepening cross-cultural exchange.

For professionals in media, education and publishing, the trend signals expanding opportunities in content development, translation, partnerships and regional-global industry growth — reinforcing Sharjah’s role in shaping the Middle East’s literary landscape.
