GCC Approves Schengen-Style Unified Tourist Visa

1 Min Read

The GCC has formally approved a unified tourist visa that will allow visitors to travel across all six Gulf countries using a single permit, similar to Europe’s Schengen system. The visa will enable entry to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman under one streamlined application, significantly simplifying travel across the region.

Tourism authorities say the new visa will strengthen the Gulf’s profile as a combined global destination, helping attract longer-staying visitors who can move freely between cities such as Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, and Muscat. The permit is expected to offer stays of 30–90 days, depending on final regulations.

For regional businesses, airlines, and hospitality operators, the unified visa could create a surge in multi-country itineraries, boosting demand for flights, hotels, and events. For professionals living in the GCC, it also means easier planning for combined business–leisure trips across neighbouring states.
