The Middle East is rapidly establishing itself as the new centre of professional triathlon, with the T100 Triathlon World Tour set to conclude its 2026 season across Dubai, Jeddah and Doha. The shift was underscored in Qatar last week, where demanding heat conditions decided the women’s title.
Organisers have confirmed a multi-year strategy that places Gulf cities at the heart of the revamped tour calendar. Doha will host the season finale under a five-year agreement, while Dubai and Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah will stage key events from next season.
With fewer but more high-profile races planned, the region’s climate, infrastructure and investment are positioning it as a permanent base for elite triathlon, mirroring trends seen in other global sports.
