Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has announced a symbolic yet significant initiative in Dubai, directing the Community Development Authority to replace the title “Housewife” with “Generation Shaper.” The announcement was made on Saturday to coincide with the celebration of Mother’s Day.
The move aims to recognise the profound and often underappreciated role mothers play in shaping families, communities, and the broader fabric of society. By introducing the term “Generation Shaper,” the initiative reframes motherhood as an active, nation-building contribution rather than a passive domestic role.
