President Donald Trump has dismissed Attorney General Pam Bondi, citing growing frustration over her handling of key Justice Department priorities. Trump had grown increasingly frustrated with Bondi, feeling she had not “executed on his vision” in the way he wanted.

Trump announced on Truth Social that Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche would take over as acting attorney general, adding that Bondi would be “transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector.”

Under her tenure, the Justice Department struggled to bring successful cases against Trump’s political opponents, with several high-profile prosecutions dismissed by courts. Bondi’s controversial handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files had also drawn criticism from both parties.

Bondi becomes the second Cabinet member to depart during Trump’s current term, following Kristi Noem’s removal as Homeland Security Secretary in March.
