Saudi Arabia has stepped up diplomatic engagement with Lebanon, offering fresh momentum to efforts aimed at sustaining the ceasefire between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah. The Saudi Foreign Ministry praised Lebanese leaders, including President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Speaker Nabih Berri, for their role in securing the truce.

The ceasefire followed direct talks hosted at the US State Department, marking a rare diplomatic breakthrough. Saudi outreach intensified with meetings involving envoy Prince Yazid bin Farhan and Lebanese officials, alongside contacts with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

A second round of discussions at the White House, attended by Donald Trump, extended the truce. Riyadh’s efforts signal a broader push for stability and political settlement in Lebanon.
