Russian President Vladimir Putin said relations between Russia and China have reached an “unprecedented level” of trust and cooperation ahead of his official visit to Beijing for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Putin described the partnership as a stabilising force in global affairs and stressed that Moscow and Beijing continue to support each other on issues involving sovereignty and national interests.
The Kremlin said discussions will focus on expanding economic, energy and strategic co-operation as both countries deepen trade ties amid continuing tensions with the West. Bilateral trade between Russia and China has surpassed $200 billion, with most transactions now conducted in roubles and yuan instead of the US dollar.
Putin also stated that the Russia-China partnership is “not directed against anyone”, while analysts view the growing alliance as a major geopolitical shift shaping global power dynamics
