UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday as tensions continued to escalate across the Middle East, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz. The two leaders discussed the latest regional developments and exchanged views on efforts to address the growing security challenges.
The call came amid a deepening standoff between the United States and Iran, with diplomatic efforts facing significant obstacles. The Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global energy shipments, has remained at the center of the crisis as maritime traffic has been disrupted and concerns over attacks on commercial vessels have increased.

The UAE has recently faced heightened security concerns following allegations of attacks involving Iranian missiles and commercial vessels linked to the country. Abu Dhabi has also taken steps to protect its economic and financial interests, including suspending trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice.
