Abu Dhabi residents and visitors will enjoy a more convenient holiday this Friday, August 28, as the emirate waives public parking fees and several Darb road toll charges for the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday public holiday.
Q Mobility confirmed that Darb tolls will be free at the Sas Al Nakhl, Al Maqta’, Rabdan and Al Saadiyat gates throughout Friday. Normal toll collection will resume on Saturday, August 29, according to the approved schedule.
Public parking across Abu Dhabi will also be free on Friday, giving motorists an opportunity to travel around the emirate without standard parking charges. The exemption does not apply to multi-storey public parking facilities, where the usual fees will remain in effect.
There are also two important toll exceptions. The Al Qurm and Ghantoot gates will continue operating around the clock, with a charge of Dh4 per crossing.
Regular public parking and Darb charges will return on Saturday, August 29.
Q Mobility said the measures are designed to support smoother movement and make travel more convenient during the public holiday. Customer Happiness Centres in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain will be closed on Friday and reopen on Monday, August 31, while digital services through the Darb app, TAMM and other official channels will remain available 24/7.
The announcement gives residents and visitors an added benefit during the holiday, making it easier to enjoy the long weekend while reducing some of the usual costs associated with driving and parking in Abu Dhabi.
