Al Ain is welcoming young volleyball talent from across the Gulf as it hosts the International Junior Volleyball Championship from August 30 to September 4 at Khalifa bin Zayed Sports Hall.

Organised by Al Ain Club under the patronage of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, with support from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and cooperation from the UAE Volleyball Federation, the tournament brings together six clubs from the UAE and Gulf region.

The participating teams include UAE’s Al Ain, Kuwait’s Al Qadsia and Burgan, Qatar’s Al Rayyan and Al Arabi, and Bahrain’s Al Nasr. The competition provides young athletes with an opportunity to gain valuable experience, compete against regional teams and strengthen sporting connections across the Gulf.

The championship also highlights Al Ain’s growing profile as a destination for major sporting events. Organisers have completed preparations covering the competition venue, participating teams, referees, media operations and spectator facilities.

Alongside the sporting action, cash prizes will be presented to the top three teams, while spectator draws and entertainment activities are planned throughout the championship.

The event is also supporting youth development and contributing to the UAE’s broader efforts to promote sports tourism and attract athletes and visitors from across the region.

With strong participation from Gulf clubs and a focus on developing emerging volleyball talent, the championship adds another international sporting event to Al Ain’s calendar and provides a platform for the next generation of players to shine.
