The United Arab Emirates has achieved a major milestone in education, ranking first among participating Arab countries in science, mathematics and reading in the OECD’s PISA 2025 assessment. The results highlight the UAE’s continued progress in strengthening its education system and preparing students for the future.
UAE students recorded significant improvements across all three core subjects compared with the 2022 assessment. The country’s science score increased by 26 points to 458, mathematics rose by 21 points to 453, and reading improved by 15 points to 433. The UAE was also among only eight of 91 participating countries and economies to improve across all three areas.
The achievement reflects the UAE’s sustained focus on developing high-quality education, strengthening teaching standards and embracing technology. The country has also placed particular emphasis on artificial intelligence and digital learning, helping students develop skills needed for an increasingly technology-driven world.
The OECD reported that 81.7% of UAE students said they learned in class how to evaluate information generated by AI, placing the UAE among the leading participating systems on this measure.
More than 34,000 UAE students across 1,070 schools participated in PISA 2025, contributing to a comprehensive assessment of the country’s educational progress.
The latest results reinforce the UAE’s ambition to build a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy by empowering young people with strong academic and digital skills. The achievement also highlights the country’s growing leadership in education across the Arab world.
