Oman has condemned attacks on civilian and economic facilities in several cities in Saudi Arabia and expressed solidarity with the kingdom.
In a statement, Oman’s Foreign Ministry said the country rejects attacks against civilians, civilian facilities and commercial vessels, as well as any actions that threaten the security and safety of maritime navigation.
Oman called for concerted efforts to contain tensions and create conditions for de-escalation and dialogue, allowing political and peaceful solutions to be pursued and safeguarding the security and stability of the region.
The Gulf Co-operation Council also strongly condemned the attacks. Secretary General Jasem Al Budaiwi described the attacks as “terrorist” acts and a blatant violation of international law, saying they deliberately endanger civilian safety and regional stability.
“These repeated attacks once again reveal the malicious intentions of the Houthi group,” Mr Al Budaiwi said in a statement posted on X. He accused the Iran-backed rebels of rejecting efforts to achieve peace and stability in Yemen, and called for a firm international response and accountability for those responsible and their supporters.
