UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has begun a state visit to Germany, marking an important milestone in the growing strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and Germany.
Sheikh Mohamed arrived in Berlin on September 9, 2026, where he received an official welcome. During the visit, he is meeting German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Friedrich Merz to discuss opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The visit is particularly significant as it is the first state visit by a UAE President to Germany. Talks are focusing on a wide range of areas, including investment, trade, energy, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, infrastructure and sustainable development.

During the visit, 29 agreements between UAE and German companies worth more than €9.3 billion were announced, creating new opportunities for investment and business partnerships. The UAE and Germany also agreed to establish a Strategic Dialogue, providing a framework for expanding cooperation across several key sectors.
