Abu Dhabi-based International Holding Company (IHC) and India’s Adani Group have signed agreements with the Government of Odisha to explore 14 major projects with a proposed investment of around ₹2.1 lakh crore, marking a significant expansion of UAE-India economic cooperation.
The projects cover a broad range of sectors, including metals and metallurgy, critical minerals and rare earths, chemicals and petrochemicals, renewable-energy equipment, healthcare, industrial infrastructure, tourism, skills development and sports infrastructure. The Odisha government estimates that the proposals could create employment opportunities for approximately 8.68 lakh people.
The agreements were signed during Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s investment outreach in the UAE, highlighting Abu Dhabi’s growing importance as a source of international investment and a gateway for Indian states seeking global partnerships.
The latest cooperation builds on a much larger $11.5 billion integrated aluminium project announced in July between Adani Enterprises and IHC group company International Resources Holding. That project includes an alumina refinery, aluminium smelter, captive power capacity and a downstream manufacturing park, with an expected 53,500 jobs.
The new projects demonstrate the growing strength of UAE-India economic relations, particularly in strategic industries connected to manufacturing, energy, infrastructure and natural resources. They also highlight the UAE’s role in facilitating long-term investment partnerships that can support industrial development and job creation.
For Abu Dhabi, the partnership further demonstrates the international reach of its investment ecosystem, while for India, it opens new opportunities for technology, capital and industrial cooperation. Together, the initiatives strengthen the foundation for long-term UAE-India trade, investment and economic growth.
