The UAE’s stock markets ended the week on a positive note, with both Dubai and Abu Dhabi recording gains in the latest trading session, highlighting continued activity and resilience across the country’s financial markets.
The Dubai Financial Market General Index rose 0.6% to 5,941.23 points, supported by strong gains among major banking stocks. Emirates NBD climbed 4.2%, while Dubai Islamic Bank also advanced, helping drive the broader market higher.
In Abu Dhabi, the benchmark index was broadly stable, edging up around 0.03% to 10,112.58 points. Gains in companies including Two Point Zero Group and ADNOC Logistics & Services provided support, while movements in some major financial stocks limited the overall advance.
Trading activity remained strong across the two exchanges, with combined turnover reaching approximately AED 1.7 billion. Abu Dhabi accounted for around AED 1.16 billion, while Dubai recorded approximately AED 562.3 million in transactions.
The latest performance also capped a positive week for UAE equities. Dubai’s benchmark gained about 1% over the week, while Abu Dhabi advanced around 1.4%, according to market data reported by Reuters.
The results underline the continued strength and depth of the UAE’s capital markets. With active participation from investors and strong performance from major listed companies, Dubai and Abu Dhabi continue to reinforce their position as important financial centres in the region.
