The UAE and Lebanon have launched the “One Million Lebanese AI Experts” initiative, a major programme aimed at equipping one million people in Lebanon with practical skills in artificial intelligence.

The initiative was announced during a meeting between Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Launched under the UAE’s Government Experience Exchange Programme (GEEP) in cooperation with the Lebanese government, the initiative will focus on generative AI and prompt engineering. Participants will learn how to use AI tools effectively in their professional and everyday activities, including how to formulate instructions that produce more accurate and useful results.

The programme is designed to reach people across Lebanese society, regardless of age, background or professional role. By providing accessible AI training, it aims to strengthen digital capabilities and help participants use emerging technologies to improve productivity, develop ideas and address practical challenges.

The initiative also expands the UAE’s approach of sharing its experience in digital transformation, government technology and AI adoption with partner countries. Under GEEP, the programme will support the exchange of knowledge and expertise while contributing to the development of human and institutional capabilities.

The announcement adds a significant technology-focused dimension to UAE-Lebanon cooperation, with both sides highlighting knowledge sharing, digital skills and innovation as areas for deeper collaboration.

By targeting one million participants, the programme represents a large-scale effort to broaden access to AI knowledge and prepare Lebanese communities for an increasingly technology-driven economy and society.
