Abu Dhabi has officially opened the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, a landmark addition to the Saadiyat Cultural District. Developed by the Department of Culture & Tourism in collaboration with leading international scientists, the museum is designed by renowned architectural firm Mecanoo. Spanning 35,000 square metres, the institution showcases 13.8 billion years of Earth’s history—from cosmic origins to the evolution of life.
More than a cultural attraction, the museum is built as a hub for scientific research, education, and global collaboration, offering scholars, students, and professionals a world-class space for discovery and learning. Its opening reinforces Abu Dhabi’s growing role as a regional centre for knowledge, culture, and innovation.
