At least eight killed and dozens injured in Israeli attacks on south Lebanon’s Tyre

At least eight people were killed and 29 injured when Israeli strikes hit a normally densely populated residential area in the south Lebanese city of Tyre this morning.

One of the longest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Tyre had already been largely emptied by repeated Israeli attacks and forced displacement orders.

Today’s assault took place moments before the Israeli military issued mass displacement orders for the entire city – including the enclave of Mina, a small Christian area that was not vacated during the war in 2024 between Israel and Hezbollah.
