Bahrain was attacked by 36 Iranian drones this morning, Foreign Minister Abdullatif Al Zayani has said.
He was speaking at a meeting with his Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
An 11-year-old girl was injured and treated at the scene during the attacks, the country’s Interior Ministry said.
“Vehicles caught fire and houses were damaged in Hamad Town and Manama due to falling debris of drones interception,” the ministry said in a post on X.
Iran launched a wave of missile and drone attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan early on Thursday, after overnight US strikes on the country.
The exchange of fire has underscored the fragility of a ceasefire in the region.
