Dubai Expands AI Noise-Radar System to Curb Loud Driving

1 Min Read

Dubai Police have expanded the city’s AI-enabled noise radar network to clamp down on vehicles that exceed acceptable sound limits, reinforcing efforts to maintain road civility and community well-being. The project, supported by the Dubai Civility Committee under the guidance of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, targets drivers who modify exhaust systems or engage in reckless driving. Offenders face fines of AED 2,000, 12 black points and impound release fees of up to AED 10,000. Authorities say the system will promote quieter neighbourhoods, improve safety and reduce public disturbances. The expansion also reflects Dubai’s broader strategy of using smart technologies to enhance urban quality of life and strengthen community standards.
