Etihad Rail is preparing to launch passenger services in 2026, marking a major milestone in the UAE’s long-term mobility and infrastructure strategy. The new rail network will connect key cities and emirates, offering residents and visitors a fast, reliable alternative to road travel. Led by Etihad Rail in coordination with federal transport authorities, the project is expected to serve daily commuters while boosting the tourism and logistics sectors. Once fully operational, the passenger network could carry up to 36.5 million travellers annually by 2030. The service is expected to ease traffic congestion, significantly reduce travel times between major urban centres, and support sustainable transport goals. By improving connectivity, Etihad Rail is set to attract new investment, reshape commuting patterns, and enhance the overall efficiency of the UAE’s transport ecosystem.
