Rome, June 28: Her Excellency Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, the UAE’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, has been awarded Italy’s prestigious Marisa Bellisario Award, recognizing exceptional women leaders for outstanding achievements in diplomacy, government, innovation, and humanitarian service. The honor was presented by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani during the award’s 38th edition in Rome.
The recognition highlights Al Hashimy’s significant contributions to international cooperation, global partnerships, and strengthening UAE-Italy relations. It also reflects the UAE’s growing international reputation for empowering women in leadership and promoting dialogue, sustainable development, and global collaboration.
Ahead of the ceremony, award recipients were welcomed by Italian President Sergio Mattarella. The recognition comes amid strengthening strategic ties between the UAE and Italy following President Mattarella’s state visit to the UAE earlier this year.
