Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad on Friday, in a move seen as laying groundwork for renewed negotiations with the United States. Pakistani sources indicate the visit will serve as a prelude to possible peace talks amid ongoing tensions.
Officials in Islamabad have maintained readiness to host discussions, with logistical preparations already under way. A recent call between Mr Araghchi and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar focused on ceasefire developments and mediation efforts.
The fragile truce, extended by Donald Trump, follows stalled talks earlier this month. Despite public resistance from Tehran, diplomatic signals suggest quiet engagement continues, with Pakistan positioning itself as a key intermediary.
