Israeli Strikes Kill Three in Lebanon as Hezbollah Warns of Escalation

The Israeli army carried out fresh strikes in southern Lebanon on Sunday, killing at least three people, as Hezbollah warned of a potential “crushing response” to continued attacks. Israel said it targeted individuals involved in rebuilding Hezbollah infrastructure and relaying messages for the group, while Lebanese health officials reported deaths in strikes on vehicles.

The attacks come despite a ceasefire agreed last year and add pressure to Lebanon’s US-backed efforts to curb Hezbollah’s armed presence. Hezbollah has so far refrained from retaliation, but senior representative Abdallah Safieddine, speaking in Tehran, warned that restraint may not last. Iran reaffirmed its support for Hezbollah, deepening regional tensions already strained by last year’s conflict.
