Jordan and Egypt have condemned a Houthi attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday that killed two people and injured eight others.
Jordan’s Foreign Ministry denounced the airport strike and other attacks targeting civilians and civilian and economic facilities as a flagrant violation of international law and an assault on Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, security and stability.
The ministry reaffirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures the kingdom takes to protect its security, stability, resources, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the attack, saying it violated international law and involved the indiscriminate targeting of air navigation, civilian infrastructure and civilians. Cairo rejected such actions, warning that they risk escalating the crisis, increasing regional tensions and undermining stability.
Egypt reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its leadership in defending the kingdom’s territory and citizens, adding that Saudi Arabia’s security was inseparable from Arab and Egyptian national security.
