Middle East does not need another conflict, says UAE’s Gargash as US-Iran tensions rise

The UAE has called for urgent diplomacy between Iran and the United States, warning that the Middle East cannot withstand another major conflict as tensions escalate between Tehran and the Trump administration. Speaking at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Dr Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE President, emphasised the need for direct negotiations to resolve longstanding disputes, particularly the nuclear issue. He stressed that repeated confrontations have destabilised the region and threatened economic and political stability. Dr Gargash said the UAE favours dialogue over escalation, urging both nations to pursue mutual understandings. His remarks follow warnings from US President Donald Trump that Iran could face severe consequences if a new agreement is not reached, raising fears of renewed regional instability.
