The UAE Cabinet has approved the rollout of a dedicated artificial intelligence curriculum across all public and private schools in the country, marking a major expansion of AI education. The initiative aims to prepare students with the technical knowledge and critical skills needed to navigate an increasingly AI-driven economy.
The curriculum will cover fundamental AI concepts, data and algorithms, applications and associated risks, while also placing strong emphasis on the ethical use of artificial intelligence. The programme is designed to help students understand not only how AI works, but also its wider impact on society and decision-making.
The announcement came as Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum chaired a UAE Cabinet meeting, where the government also reviewed initiatives to strengthen AI capabilities among educators. A programme aims to train 22,000 teachers and education professionals to use AI for lesson planning, assessment, curriculum analysis and classroom innovation.
The move reinforces the UAE’s strategy of integrating advanced technology into education and developing a generation equipped for future industries and workplaces.
