US President Donald Trump says negotiations with Iran are “proceeding nicely” and that he asked more countries to sign on to the Abraham Accords, as part of American efforts to reach a deal with Tehran.
“It should be mandatory that all of these countries, at a minimum, simultaneously, sign on to the Abraham Accords,” Mr Trump said in a post on Truth Social, referring to nations including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Egypt and Jordan.
The accords were set up for countries to sign on to establish ties with Israel.
“Therefore, I am mandatorily requesting that all countries immediately sign the Abraham Accords, and that, if Iran signs its agreement with me, as President of the United States of America, it would be an honour to have them also be part of this unparalleled world coalition,” Mr Trump added.
