UAE-EU Free Trade Talks Make Strong Progress

The UAE and the European Union concluded their fourth round of free trade negotiations this week in the UAE, reporting significant progress across trade, investment and emerging sectors. The discussions, led by UAE Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh and senior EU trade officials, focused on strengthening cooperation in goods, services, renewable energy and advanced technology.

The EU currently represents 8.3% of the UAE’s non-oil trade, underscoring its role as a major strategic partner. A fifth negotiation round is scheduled for early 2026, reflecting sustained momentum.

A strengthened UAE-EU trade pact could expand market access, boost GCC exports, attract greater foreign investment and accelerate growth in technology and green energy industries.
