President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with European Council President Antonio Costa in Abu Dhabi yesterday to advance discussions on a comprehensive UAE-EU economic partnership. The talks, which also addressed efforts toward a Gaza ceasefire, highlighted both sides’ shared commitment to deepening cooperation across trade, investment, and regional stability.
Senior ministers and advisers from the UAE and the European Union participated in the meeting, building upon negotiations launched earlier in April that aim to unlock major trade potential between the two regions.
Officials emphasized that the emerging economic pact could pave the way for expanded opportunities for professionals in logistics, finance, and technology sectors, while enhancing GCC–EU business ties.
Analysts view the talks as a significant step toward a broader strategic partnership that supports long-term stability, sustainable growth, and stronger mobility for investors and professionals across both markets.
