UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan participated in a high-level meeting convened by US President Donald Trump with Arab and Islamic leaders and senior officials on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The meeting brought together leaders and foreign ministers from several Arab and Islamic countries, including Jordan, Qatar, Türkiye, Syria, Kuwait, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman.
Discussions focused on regional developments and the situation in the Middle East, alongside efforts to strengthen security and stability and support development and economic prosperity across the region. Participants also discussed ways to strengthen multilateral international action in support of peace, development and stability.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s support for international and regional efforts aimed at de-escalation and establishing lasting peace, with the goal of enhancing security, stability and prosperity for the region’s peoples. He also highlighted the strategic relationship between the UAE and the United States and cooperation across a range of sectors.
The meeting forms part of the UAE’s wider diplomatic engagement during UNGA81. Sheikh Abdullah is leading the UAE delegation throughout the high-level week, where the country is also focusing on international peace and security, UN reform, responsible AI, climate action and sustainable water solutions.
The UAE’s participation highlights its continued engagement in multilateral diplomacy and discussions focused on regional stability, international cooperation and sustainable development.
