UAE Positions Cautiously on Gaza Stabilisation Force

The UAE is unlikely to join the proposed International Stabilisation Force in Gaza due to the absence of a clear operational framework, Dr Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, said on Monday. Speaking at the Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate, Dr Gargash noted that “under such circumstances, we will probably not participate in such a force,” though the UAE will continue to support all political efforts toward peace.

The US-backed plan, part of a fragile ceasefire agreement that began on October 10, envisions a multinational force from Muslim-majority nations to secure Gaza. Dr Gargash described the peace plan as “imperfect but significant,” calling for renewed focus on a two-state solution and long-term regional stability.
