The United Arab Emirates is beginning preparations for the 2027 Hajj season, with authorities continuing efforts to streamline the pilgrimage process and make arrangements for Emirati pilgrims well in advance.
The upcoming Hajj will fall in the Islamic year 1448 AH. While official registration dates specifically for the 2027 season have not yet been announced, UAE authorities have already put measures in place to carry forward eligible applicants from the previous season. Applicants who were not selected for Hajj in 2026 had their applications automatically transferred to the 1448 AH/2027 selection process, meaning they do not need to submit a new application.
The move reflects the UAE’s emphasis on early planning and digital administration of Hajj services. In the 2026 season, more than 72,000 UAE citizens applied through official digital channels, while 6,228 pilgrims were approved to perform Hajj. Authorities used an electronic selection system that considered several factors, including priority for senior citizens, people requiring special medical consideration, repeat applicants and first-time pilgrims.
The UAE has also emphasized the importance of preparing pilgrims through organized procedures, official channels and modern digital systems. These measures are intended to improve efficiency while supporting the safety, comfort and overall experience of pilgrims.
