UAE Prepares for September Fuel Price Update as Oil Prices Ease

2 Min Read

The UAE is preparing to announce its petrol and diesel prices for September, with motorists watching global oil markets for signs of what the next monthly adjustment could bring.

The UAE Fuel Price Committee is expected to announce the September rates at the end of August, following its regular monthly review of international energy markets. While the official figures have not yet been released, recent movements in global oil prices have improved the outlook for motorists.

Brent crude, the international benchmark, has recently fallen below $90 a barrel after a period of strong gains. The decline has been supported by improving expectations around diplomatic efforts and the possibility of smoother energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

As a result, analysts say UAE fuel prices could remain broadly stable or potentially edge lower in September if the decline in international oil prices continues through the final days of August.

The current August rates are Dh3.60 per litre for Super 98, Dh3.49 for Special 95, Dh3.41 for E-Plus 91 and Dh3.80 for diesel. These prices were approved by the UAE Fuel Price Committee in line with international market movements.

The UAE’s monthly pricing system allows fuel rates to respond to broader global market conditions while providing motorists with a clear monthly schedule for any changes. For September, the recent easing in crude prices offers a more encouraging backdrop.

The final rates will depend on the average international oil and refined-product prices recorded during August. Until the official announcement, motorists can expect the UAE’s transparent monthly review process to determine the prices that will take effect in September.
