UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met LuLu Group International Chairman and Managing Director M.A. Yusuff Ali during a visit to a LuLu shopping centre in Abu Dhabi on August 11, highlighting the strong connection between the UAE’s leadership, business community and residents.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed toured different sections of the hypermarket alongside Yusuff Ali and other officials. He interacted warmly with employees and shoppers and took photographs with members of the public who gathered to welcome him. The visit was widely welcomed by shoppers and staff, who expressed their happiness at meeting the UAE President.

The meeting also reflected the important role LuLu Group plays in the UAE’s retail and consumer sector. Founded and led by Yusuff Ali, the group has grown into a major international retail business, with operations across several countries. Its UAE activities contribute to the availability and distribution of essential consumer goods and support the wider retail economy.

Yusuff Ali has also been involved in several major community and development initiatives in the UAE. Earlier in 2026, he contributed AED150 million to the Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans initiative, launched by Awqaf Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

The President’s visit comes as LuLu continues expanding its operations and investing in new initiatives across the region. The encounter underscores the importance of strong cooperation between government and the private sector in supporting economic development, community wellbeing and the UAE’s long-term growth.

The visit also offered a notable example of the UAE leadership’s direct engagement with businesses, employees and residents in everyday public spaces.
