Addressing Arab League representatives, the UAE emphasized the importance of collective Arab action in supporting Somalia’s efforts to strengthen state institutions, combat extremism, and advance national reconciliation. The UAE highlighted that Somalia’s stability is vital not only for its own people but also for the security of the wider Horn of Africa and the Arab region.
The statement stressed the need for sustained political dialogue among Somali stakeholders, encouraging inclusive governance and cooperation between federal and regional authorities. It also underlined the importance of respecting Somalia’s sovereignty while providing constructive international and regional support aligned with the priorities of the Somali government.
The UAE reaffirmed its role as a key humanitarian and development partner to Somalia, citing its long-standing contributions in areas such as humanitarian relief, healthcare, education, and infrastructure development. In addition, the UAE called for enhanced coordination between Arab states and international partners to support Somalia’s security sector reform and counterterrorism efforts, particularly in addressing threats posed by extremist groups.
