UAE show jumping rider Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi delivered a performance at the FEI Jumping World Championship in Aachen, Germany, finishing 13th in the Individual Final and highlighting the UAE’s presence on the international equestrian stage.
At 23, Al Marzooqi was the youngest rider in the Individual Final. Riding Enjoy de la Mure, he advanced to the final as one of only 25 combinations remaining from an original field of 146 athletes representing 51 nations. His qualification followed a clear round in the second individual qualifier, which placed the Emirati partnership 11th overall heading into the final.
In Sunday’s Individual Final, Al Marzooqi produced a determined performance and secured 13th place overall. The result placed him among the world’s leading combinations and provided championship experience against established riders.
The Aachen campaign adds to an impressive international record for the young Emirati. He made his Olympic debut at Paris 2024, reaching the individual final, and previously won individual silver and team bronze at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. He also claimed silver at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games and became the first UAE rider to receive the Longines FEI Rising Star Award.
As of August 2026, Al Marzooqi ranks 87th in the Longines world rankings and sixth in the FEI Jumping U25 Ranking. His performance in Aachen represents another step in his development and strengthens the UAE’s reputation in international show jumping.
With major competitions ahead, Al Marzooqi’s progress offers an encouraging sign for the future of UAE equestrian sport.
