The UAE is set for a major acceleration in artificial intelligence capacity after the United States approved a licence allowing Microsoft to export advanced NVIDIA AI chips to the country. The decision clears the way for more than $7.9 billion in AI and cloud-infrastructure investments expected between 2026 and 2029. Officials and industry analysts say the move strengthens the UAE’s position as a leading regional hub for high-performance computing, enterprise cloud services and applied AI research. The investment wave is also expected to generate significant opportunities for technology, data-science and enterprise-IT professionals across the GCC, as demand grows for talent capable of deploying and managing large-scale AI workloads.
