The US has launched a new wave of strikes on Iran, targeting military capabilities that Washington says have been used to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
US Central Command (Centcom) said the operation began at 6am Eastern Time.
The attacks were “designed to further degrade military capabilities Iranian forces have used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz”, it added.
