The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the escalating violence in El Fasher, the capital of Sudan’s North Darfur region, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to supporting regional and international efforts aimed at restoring peace, protecting civilians, and ensuring humanitarian access. As clashes intensify between armed groups, the UAE has reiterated that the safety and dignity of Sudan’s people must remain the international community’s foremost priority.
In an official statement, the UAE expressed deep concern over the “horrific violations” reported across war-torn areas, particularly in El Fasher, where civilian populations continue to bear the brunt of the conflict. The country emphasised that the rise in targeted attacks, displacement, and disruptions to essential services represents a grave threat to regional stability and requires an immediate, coordinated response.
The UAE has consistently advocated for a comprehensive humanitarian cease-fire in Sudan since the outbreak of the civil war.
