Trump Urges Israel to Avoid ‘Interference’ in Syria After Deadly Raid

Washington — US President Donald Trump on Monday warned Israel to avoid interfering in Syria and to maintain open dialogue with Damascus, days after an Israeli military raid killed 13 people in southern Syria and heightened tensions along the border. The Israeli army said the operation targeted members of the Jamaa Islamiya group, while local officials reported that women and children were among the dead.

In a Truth Social post, Mr Trump stressed that Israel should ensure “nothing takes place that will interfere with Syria’s evolution into a prosperous state.” He said the US remains committed to supporting Syria’s stability, praising the recent easing of “strong and biting” sanctions on Damascus. Syrian officials have warned that regional turmoil could worsen without a clear security framework involving Israel.
