The UAE has renewed its call for decisive international action to address Sudan’s escalating humanitarian catastrophe, as global aid funding continues to decline. UAE Minister of State for International Co-operation Reem Al Hashimy warned that drastic cuts have left millions without life-saving support, describing the situation as “the cruel maths of aid cuts.”
Under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed, the UAE has pledged $550 million to UN-led relief efforts, reinforcing its role as one of Sudan’s largest donors. With over 30 million people in need and nearly 12 million displaced, the UAE and its Quad partners are urging an immediate humanitarian truce, expanded aid access and a path toward a civilian-led future for Sudan.
