Kuwait has announced a limited cabinet reshuffle, appointing new foreign and finance ministers as part of a broader government reorganisation. Emir Sheikh Mishal issued a decree replacing eight cabinet positions, naming Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah as Foreign Minister and Yaacoub Al Refaie as Finance Minister. Osama Boodai was appointed Minister of Commerce and Industry, while Abdullah Bouftain became Minister of Information and Culture. Sheikh Jarrah previously served as deputy foreign minister and has held key diplomatic roles since 2005, including postings at Kuwait’s UN missions. Several regional and international counterparts, including officials from Qatar, Egypt and Ukraine, congratulated him. The reshuffle follows a series of cabinet changes and parliamentary dissolutions in Kuwait, reflecting ongoing political disputes and governance challenges.
