Hezbollah said on Wednesday that it had launched a rocket attack targeting a gathering of Israeli soldiers near the El-Marj military base in northern Israel.
In a statement, the group said the strike targeted “a gathering of Israeli soldiers near the El Marj base” at 2.45pm local time. The base is located directly opposite the Lebanese border village of Markaba in the Marjeyoun District.
The Israeli military later said it had intercepted two projectiles launched from Lebanon, adding that no injuries were reported. Earlier in the day, it also announced the interception over the Kiryat Shmona area of “a suspected Hezbollah drone launched from Lebanon”.
The attack as as negotiations between Israel and Lebanon countries are currently taking place in Washington. Israel has warned that it could strike Beirut’s southern suburbs if Hezbollah continues attacks on northern Israeli communities.
