Iran said today there was no reason to be concerned that a new security treaty between Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia was directed against Tehran, stressing its “deep religious, historical and civilizational ties” with all three countries.
“There is no reason to worry about Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia … that this treaty is against Iran,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said.
He highlighted long-standing ties among the people of Iran, Pakistan and Turkey, describing the relationship between the latter two as rooted in their shared Muslim heritage and geographic proximity.
