Abu Dhabi’s Executive Council has used an agentic artificial intelligence platform for the first time, marking a significant step in the emirate’s adoption of advanced technology for government decision-making. The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council.
The AI Committee System was used to analyse proposals and agenda items before the meeting, generating executive summaries and providing officials with detailed information to support discussions. During the session, the platform also delivered real-time insights, questions and data-driven analysis.
The system can help officials fact-check information, examine proposals and identify relevant observations, while maintaining links between AI-generated outputs and the original source documents. This traceability is designed to support transparent and evidence-based government work.
The platform also supports follow-up after meetings by preparing analytical reports, meeting minutes and summaries of recommendations and required actions. This can help government entities track responsibilities and accelerate the implementation of approved decisions.
The meeting also addressed several major initiatives for Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Khaled directed the expansion of the Abu Dhabi Liveability Strategy, following a first phase that completed more than 60 major projects worth over AED 12 billion.
The Council also approved the expansion of the Al Ghad Nurseries programme, increasing capacity to 12,000 places by 2029, and approved the Abu Dhabi Programme for the Future of Reproductive Health, which incorporates AI, genomics and precision medicine.
The adoption of agentic AI demonstrates Abu Dhabi’s commitment to building a data-driven, efficient and technology-focused government, further strengthening the UAE’s position at the forefront of AI-powered public-sector innovation.
