Philippine billionaire Enrique Razon Jr.’s International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) is expanding its presence in Africa after agreeing to acquire full ownership of TLG Acquisition Holdings, an integrated port and cargo-handling operator with businesses across South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia.
The transaction strengthens ICTSI’s position in southern Africa and broadens its operations beyond traditional container handling into bulk commodities, agricultural products and specialised cargo services. The acquisition price has not been disclosed, while completion remains subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions.
The move follows ICTSI’s growing involvement in South Africa’s port sector. In January 2026, the company began operational responsibilities at Durban Container Terminal Pier 2 under a 25-year partnership with Transnet, with plans to increase annual capacity from about 2 million to 2.8 million twenty-foot equivalent units.
The latest acquisition reflects Razon’s strategy of building a diversified global logistics network through strategic port investments. ICTSI already operates terminals across multiple continents, making the African expansion an important step in strengthening its international footprint and exposure to emerging trade corridors.
