On 12 Nov 2025 the Gulf Cooperation Council approved a new “one-stop” travel system, starting with a pilot between the UAE and Bahrain. Under the initiative travellers will complete immigration, customs and security at a single entry point. Officials say the measure is designed to streamline cross-border mobility and support regional integration. Participants include all six GCC member states, with the UAE and Bahrain implementing the first phase from December 2025. This matters for professionals who travel or do business regionally: fewer delays, less bureaucracy and better inter-GCC accessibility.
