Israel recently struck Iran’s largest petrochemical facility, in the city of Assaluyeh, responsible for about half of Iran’s production, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said in a statement on Monday afternoon. The second-largest facility was attacked last week, he said.

Mr Katz said attacks on Iranian energy sites have destroyed about 85 per cent of the country’s petrochemical exports.

“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and I have instructed the [Israeli military] to continue to attack with all force the national infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime,” he added.
